Dr. Mona Koaik, Ophthalmologist, Ottawa
Dr. Koaik earned her MD from the American University of Beirut, where she also completed her ophthalmology residency. She subsequently pursued fellowship training in Cornea and Anterior Segment Surgery at the University of Ottawa.
Her research focuses on ocular surface reconstruction, corneal transplantation, refractive surgery outcomes, and advances in anterior segment imaging. As an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and Clinician Investigator at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI), she holds the Junior Clinical Research Chair in Ophthalmology and serves as the Department Wellness Lead.
In addition to her clinical and academic work, Dr. Koaik is actively involved in anterior segment research, surgical education, and global outreach initiatives, contributing to the advancement of ophthalmic care and training.
