Lieon Kit, BScPT, IMS, Physiotherapist, Vancouver,
Lieon Kit is a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach with extensive experience helping people of all ages and backgrounds achieve their rehabilitation, performance, and fitness goals.
Lieon completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in 2007, following a Master’s of Education in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000. He has continued to expand his clinical expertise through numerous postgraduate courses and certifications, including Intramuscular Stimulation (Gunn IMS) through UBC Gunn IMS, Anatomical Acupuncture through the Canadian Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (CAFCI), manual therapy training through the Ola Grimsby Institute, and orthopedic training with Dr. George Davies.
Lieon takes an evidence-based and individualized approach to physiotherapy. He believes the best outcomes come from combining patient education, an understanding of biomechanics and tissue healing, hands-on manual therapy, acupuncture and dry needling, and targeted exercises that are specific to each person’s sport, work, and lifestyle. His goal is not only to help patients recover from injury, but also to give them the knowledge and tools to move confidently and prevent future problems.
With a personal background in volleyball, basketball, football, softball, and dragon boating, Lieon has a particular interest in working with athletes, especially overhead and shoulder athletes. He also has a special interest in sports conditioning and pre- and post-operative rehabilitation.
Lieon is bilingual in English and Cantonese and enjoys working with a diverse range of patients and rehabilitation goals. Whether recovering from an injury, preparing for surgery, returning to sport, or simply looking to move and perform better, he works closely with each patient to develop a practical and effective treatment plan.
Outside of the clinic, Lieon enjoys spending time with his wife and their two young children. These days, he especially appreciates the rare moments when both kids are napping—or, even better, sleeping through the night!
