Dr David Maberley, Ophthalmologist, Ottawa
Dr. Maberley earned his medical degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Toronto. He subsequently pursued a fellowship in retina at Queen’s University, followed by a second fellowship in advanced surgical techniques and medical retina at Columbia University and the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York. He also holds a Master of Science in Community Health and Epidemiology from Queen’s University.
His research focuses on macular and retinal vascular diseases, with particular interests in tele-ophthalmology, pharmacoepidemiology, and retinal surgery.
Dr. Maberley is a Full Professor at the University of Ottawa and a Clinician Investigator at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). He serves as Chair and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology. He is also the founder of the Canadian Retina Society and previously served as Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at UBC.
